So we all know Bush likes to dress up and play soldier and pretend he is too a brave marine|footsloggernaval aviator|comwboy|Indian|construction worker. It must drive him nuts then that he can’t get all those medals for bravery he’s sure he’s got a right too, just because he never served for real. Luckily for him then there are still people gullible enough to believe in him and present him with their own hard won medals, as Bill Thomas did with his Purple Heart:
COPPERAS COVE – History will be made today when Copperas Cove resident Bill Thomas and his wife, Georgia, present President George W. Bush with a Purple Heart at the Oval Office.
Thomas said he and his wife came up with the unprecedented idea to present the president with the Purple Heart over breakfast one morning a few months ago as they discussed the verbal attacks, both foreign and domestic, the commander in chief has withstood during his time in office.
“We feel like emotional wounds and scars are as hard to carry as physical wounds,” Thomas said.
The medal was awarded to Thomas on Dec. 18, 1965, following injuries he sustained while serving in heavy combat with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam.
This is so pathetic, isn’t it? First, that this guy really believes that calling out Bush on his crimes is equivalent to being wounded by the Vietcong or whatever, second that the White House is actually letting this guy hand over his Purple Heart to Bush. Don’t they know how stupid that looks? Or are they all true believers in the Bush the entitled He-man myth?
